Why Bev's Baked Bytes?

When it comes to baked goods, there are lots of options out there, but Bev's Baked Bytes is by far the best choice, and here's why:

BETTER TASTE, AND BETTER FOR YOU

Grocery store cookies offer larger quantities for their price, but that's because they're made with really cheap ingredients that, in addition to giving the products a lousy texture and unnatural flavor, actually do your body harm. Here are just a few examples:

high fructose corn syrup - As a cheaper alternative to sugar, many companies sweeten their products with high fructose corn syrup. In addition to attacking vital cognitive functions, this substance has been linked to weight gain, elevated bad cholesterol, increased diabetes risk, and liver damage.

refined sugar - When companies actually do bother to use real sugar, they usually use the refined kind, also known as "white" sugar. While better for you than high fructose corn syrup, it's still pretty bad because it's been processed to the point where it offers no nutritional value. On the contrary, your body wastes valuable nutrients attempting to process it, and its composition is already so simplified that it rushes into your bloodstream, causing "sugar rush." Your body responds with an overload of insulin, which rushes the sugar right back out, resulting in the "crash" soon after.

hydrogenated oil - That weird, greasy sensation left in your mouth after eating an Oreo is hydrogenated oil. Companies looking to save a buck pump hydrogen gas into fat to make it more dense so that it goes further when used in their products. This is all fine and good until you get to the part about it being literally toxic. The effect hydrogenated oils have on the body match the textbook definition of poison.

caramel color - Unless a product label specifically states that its added color comes from a natural source, it usually doesn't, and "caramel color" is no exception. That nice, appealing shade of brown in your "value" cookie is just a chemical concoction that gets absorbed by your body...and you are what you eat.

artificial (fill in the blank) - Speaking of chemical concoctions, pretty much anything labeled as "artificial" in your food, whether it be flavor, color, or preservative, is achieved by chemicals. One product may just contain a little bit, but because so many processed foods contain that little bit, it really adds up. It's no wonder cancer is so rampant these days.

In comparison, Bev's Baked Bytes products are made and sold fresh, eliminating the need for preservatives, and the ingredients that do go into them have not only great taste but our customers in mind. Here are just a few examples of the BBB difference:

unbleached and unbromated flour - While bleached, bromated flour can make baked goods look a little nicer, we don't feel it's worth ingesting all those yucky chemicals, so we make a point of using a natural, high protein flour.

raw sugar - In place of refined "white" granulated sugar, we use naturally processed raw cane sugar. It's better for you because its complexity breaks down more gradually in your body, preventing the "sugar rush" effect, and it provides nutrients your body needs. Plus, it tastes way better!

real butter - Unlike margarine, butter has naturally occurring fat that is beneficial to your body. Fat is not the enemy. It's all the artificial junk they try to use in its stead.

unrefined sea salt - Just like raw sugar, unrefined sea salt is minimally processed, resulting in a salt that retains its natural color, flavor, and nutrients.

anti-artificial - Look for the icon on each product description page, which indicates that the product is made using only natural ingredients. (We already make the vast majority of our products this way, and we're working on achieving the same with the rest!)

BETTER VALUE

With all the premium ingredients that go into our products, they are an excellent value. Check out other cookie web sites like David's Cookies and Cheryl's Cookies. One dozen of their most basic cookies, which aren't even made with healthful ingredients like ours, costs almost $30, and that's before adding the cost of shipping! With BBB you get a better product at a better price--now that's what we call a win-win!

Still not convinced? How about a special discount to sweeten the deal? Use the coupon code CHIMICHANGA to receive $5 off your first order! Now that's what we call a win-win-win!
